>whole time feel like there's pressure building behind my eyes.
>like static in the air
>days start feeling off after that
lose track of time randomly
>catch myself zoning out during work orders
>stand in storage closets not remembering why ! walked in there
start waking up at exactly 600 AM without alarms
>even on my days off
>sometimes catch myself reaching for my phone like I'm about to record something, even when there's nothing happening
>start dreaming about blank apartments
wake up with the taste of metal in my mouth
>i don't tell anyone
mean, who would even believe me
who could I possibly tell something like this to?
>couple weeks later get notice I'm being transferred to another property
>no warning, just effective immediately
>manager says it's part of 2 routine staffing shuffle
>I don't even bother trying to fight it
>deep down I figure it might be good for me to make change
>pack up my tools, hand in my Keycards
>before I leave, decide to take one last look at 412
floor is quiet when I get there
>door to 412 is sealed shut
>new electronic lock installed, not a standard smart lock
>no keypad, no keyhole, just a blank panel
nothing to even interact with
>only marking is tiny etched number in the comer
>never seen that numbering system anywhere else in the building
>lean closer to look
>hear a faint noise from inside
>like someone shifting their weight on a couch
>I fake a step back away from the door
>my heart is racing faster than it ever has in my entire life
>I don't knock
>I don't call security
>! decide to just leave
>the new property I got assigned to is fine
>it's not perfect and I sometimes have to deal with shitty problems still
>but nothing weird
>it is a lower-end complex across town
>it has old carpets and leaky pipes
>but I can't complain
>because the are normal problems
>I have normal tenants to deal with
